Bandura suggests measuring self-efficacy on a 0-100 scale, where respondents rate their confidence in their ability to perform a specific task between 0 and 100 in 10-point increments.
The scale includes 3 anchor descriptions:
- 0 (“Cannot do at all”)
- 50 (“Moderately certain can do”)
- 100 (“Highly certain can do”)
One of the nice features of this scale is that it maps cleanly onto how people typically rate their confidence as a percentage (e.g. “I’m 80% sure I can do this” would equate to an 80 on this scale).
