Ingredients

  • 240g all-purpose flour
  • 396g granulated sugar
  • 63g cocoa powder
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1.5 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup milk (or buttermilk)
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup boiling water

Steps

  • Preheat over to 350F
  • Line 2 9-inch springform pans with parchment paper and/or spray
  • Mix dry ingredients in a stand mixer
  • Add wet ingredients (except water) to stand mixer & continue to mix on low speed
  • Add water slowly
  • Pour batter (it will be very wet!) into pans & bake for ~30 mins
